Niuean

We wanted to present something special during Niuean Language Week, because we have students from Niue in Room 8. We read a play and then Milan’s family translated it into a song for us to sing as a class at assembly. We practised with Mr Caleb and we hope you enjoy our song.

  1. Mōrena Room 8,
Thanks for sharing the word to the song so I could try and sing along with you as I watched your video. You have done really well learning a new song for Niuean Language Week. It is a lovely tune. How do you say good morning and good bye in Niuean?

I love your song and your singing ! Well done for learning a new song for Niuean language week. Did you know that I was lucky enough to spend one week in Niue this past week. I stayed in Alofi with my family which is the capital of Niue. I am so happy to have seen this video. Thank you Mrs Bracey for sharing the link with me. All the best for the rest of the year.

  5. Hello,
You guys sound amazing. You are in tune and I hope I can convince my teacher to start singing that song. I have a suggestion, you could have translated the song into English, that way it would allow me to understand what you are singing!

Did you guys write the song or did someone write it for you? What is the English translation of this song? I would love it if you sang more songs for us to listen to.
